ABOUT GABRIELLE'S PAINTINGS
I have been painting for a little bit over three years now and realised recently how much I wanted the world to see my artwork.
I do mostly abstract, as the main figurative paintings I have done were for gifting to my family. Working the abstract has helped me to understand colours, shapes and flow in paintings.
I have a long way to go in learning new technics, but in the meantime I hope you'll appreciate my art.

Thank you, Gabrielle.
GABRIELLE'S PAINTINGS BEGINNINGS
I started painting by accident.
I was doing a massive jigsaw, spending hours and hours on it, but always struggling because I couldn't keep my pieces in neat tidy piles to carry around the jigsaw with me. Hence the idea of making my own jigsaw-piece-shaped jigsaw piece tray (what a mouthful !).
I was 21 and it was as DIY as could be. I used ply wood for the bottom and polystyrene for the edges.
Obviously I did a very messy job and it was looking rather unpleasant and unfinished... Cue in absolute genius: Let's paint this tray and make it pretty again !
I painted from a picture, it was a sunset by the sea in Brittany.

I felt so much peace and joy painting that day, I knew then that painting would be a massive part of me and my mental wellbeing. Life is beautiful and deserves to be enjoyed and that is why I am still painting today.
